Jan 2012Another year rolls around
Well a new year is here and a new resolution is to try and keep this page up dated, so that all you After Hours aficionados can be kept up to date with the goings on in After Hours world. Let me just start by wishing each and every one of you a Happy and Prosperous 2012, and hope we get to see more of you at one of our gigs during the year.
First gig of the year is now under our belt. The Admiral Lord Rodney (Admiral Lord Rodney a famous British Admiral) in Colne was the venue on the 21st. For those that don’t know it, Colne is a Lancashire town on in the edge of the Pennines. It gets cold there at this time of year. And when there is no heating in the pub, it is very cold. First gig I’ve ever done where the audience look like they are preparing for a polar expedition. And despite being stood less than 3 feet from our lighting rig, it was rather chilly to say the least. But, the fantastic and enthusiastic audience more than made up for the lack of temperature. What a great bunch of people, had the joint really jumping (thought that could have been an effort to keep warm, but I doubt it). Look forward to seeing you all again in May. So what’s the agenda for the rest of this year you ask? Well we’ve already booked in at The International Rock & Blues Festival in Burnley in May. The same month we have our first ever visit to The True Blues Club, and at the end of June should be travelling back over the border again to The Dundee Blues Bonanza. Got a return visit to our favourite venue, BJs Blues Club in July, and hopefully the August Bank Holiday will see us at The Great British R& B festival in Colne again. Well that’s all for now. I will endeavour to keep you more frequently updated on the goings on in After Hours world in the future. Cheers all, Doug L.
